I’m getting mixed signals on what exactly are values in Chicago.
First we have Officer Crumskie laying down the law…
Ok, so far so good.
Lesson is: don’t get drunk and threaten police. Understood.
But then last night on David Letterman Michelle Obama goes on and talks up South Chicago values …
For us, it’s the values. The thing that we try to do is make sure — the residence is on the second and the third floor of the White House. And what we want to have happen is when they get off that elevator and walk in to our residence that it feels like the south side of Chicago, the same values, the same rules, the same sense of responsibility.
Because, of course the stuff is different. There are butlers walking around, you know? We didn’t have that, you know.
Fair enough. That seems like wisdom to me.
But while mom was on TV talking about her down home Chicago values – her 13-year old daughter is with 10 friends on spring break in Mexico, chaperoned by 25 secret service members.
That’s not even Lake Shore Drive values.
I know at 13 I was denied permission to go to Freaknik.
Still bitter I missed it, but I’ll concede it was the right call.
Michelle: Get your kid home to eat her fucking vegetables. Then talk values.
